CEO Corner

As our Chair has mentioned, preparations are well underway for our Whānau Day and AGM on 29 & 30 August at Omaka Marae in Blenheim. The Whānau Day on the 29th is looking great with a range of activities planned at the Marlborough Lines Stadium from 10am till 2pm, then a Hakari at Omaka from 6pm that night. It will be a fun and busy weekend, so make sure you and the whanau have the date in your diary.

Sunday 30 August is AGM Day at Omaka and this year we have made some changes to ensure iwi members have the opportunity to discover more about their iwi entities. A Forum Session is scheduled for 10.30am where we will update you on the progress made with your strategic plan, and there will be an open session for iwi members to ask questions and share their thinking.

There are two AGM’s on Sunday 30th, at 11.30am the Post-Settlement Trust AGM followed by lunch then at 1.00pm the Charitable Trust AGM, full details are covered in the Noticeboard section of this Pānui and on your iwi web site. For more information on travel, accommodation support or for an advanced copy of the Annual Report, please contact or Free Phone 0800 578 900.

As mentioned last month, we now have an agreement in place with Workforce Development NZ to deliver a Literacy & Numeracy Support Programme to iwi members who are in the workforce. Places are limited so if you or someone in your whānau could benefit from this support please register an interest at or
Freephone 0800 578 900.

Now that we have the monthly Pānui and regular updates going to you, we have turned our attention to creating a printed Quarterly Newsletter, the first one is due out in October. The aim of the monthly Pānui is to keep you up to date with the latest news and with what’s happening or coming up each month, the Quarterly Newsletter will report on what’s happened and provide you with more information in more detail.

We’re looking for a name for the Quarterly Newsletter so put your thinking caps on and send us your recommendations to

We need your help to make sure we have the correct ‘Contact Details’ for you and your whanau. It’s important that our iwi database is up to date so we can keep you connected and up to date with the exciting things that are happening in your iwi. If you have moved or changed your email address or phone numbers please let us know of the changes so we can update your membership file.

Either email or call us on Freephone 0800 578900.

Make sure you get some sleep and keep up the training for all the activities at the Tuia Te Tāngata Apa Whānau Weekend on the 29th & 30th August.
