Tēnā koutou e te whānau
Well there is no doubt that winter has made itself at home across the Tauihu, with the colder days and frosts. It has been a case of wrap up and keep up, with what has been a busy month across the top of the south for Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō.
The team have been busily preparing for the AGM weekend, at the end of September and ensuring that you have an opportunity to register and have a say in the current elections. Please ring 0800 666 044 if you have not received your papers and they will be sent out to you.
As well as the preparations for elections and your AGM, the team has been very busy over the past month providing assistance to our young future leaders who spent a week in a pretty incredible and intense programme at Omaka Marae, the fourth Mana Rangatahi Wānanga was held 18th – 23rd.
A lot has been happening in our Archives and the work that has been done, while it appears slow has been meticulous and is helping us to understand the many places that our people lived. It is pleasing to report to you that we appear to be operating in a relatively safe environment with work done to date around water, fire, light and security.
It is also pleasing to note the recent graduation from the Computers in Homes programme, and the talk about another of our iwi members looking at starting the programme in Westport is also great news. For more information on these or other great aspects of your iwi please feel free to contact us.
