Tēnā koutou e te whānau
Well, having spent the past few months reading the many weekly notices that are now a standard part of the Ngāti Apa korero and then gazing at our web site, it seemed like I was re-joining our team years, rather than just a few months later!!
Our iwi has certainly found its way and may I firstly thank my team for continuing to deliver on behalf of all Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, and for working with our board to ensure that what they had been working towards was always a key focus.
Having been back, full time, with our iwi for the past 2 weeks and there has certainly been, and is, a lot going on.
My thoughts are naturally on our many young ones (leaders) who will be gathered at Omaka Marae for the fourth Mana Rangatahi Wānanga next week, to experience and be entertained I am sure, by all that awaits them. This is a wonderful opportunity for our young to be awakened to the Ngāti Apa way of seeing and experiencing the world around them.
A world that continues to offer opportunities not just for the young but for all those who want change, whether it be through Computers in Homes, Literacy & Numeracy or some of the other programmes we have been slowly adding to the Ngāti Apa house.
