Kia ora e te Iwi
Ko ngā mihi ki a koutou i roto i ngā tini āhuatanga o te wā o Whiringa-ā-nuku.
While we’ve been waiting to see the results of our national election here at the Rūnanga we’ve got on with the busy requirements of Iwi life.
In the last month over and above the initiatives mentioned in this Pānui we have:
- Secured a marine farm lease agreement with Kono
- Signed up to a joint Iwi arrangement over marine aquaculture waterspace investigation with Tasman District Council
- In conjunction with Ngati Kuia begun discussions over our paua quota leasing with commercial operators
- Continued to develop our relationships with a wide variety of other groups in our rohe including Ngāti Kuia, Ngāti Tama, Rangitāne, Wakatu Incorporation, Ngāti Waewae as well as Tasman, Buller and Marlborough District Councils as well as various Government agencies including DOC, MOJ, MBIE and TPK.
We are now on the outlook for a permanent General Manager so if you think you are appropriately qualified or you have someone you think would be suitable we would love to hear from you. Also we are hoping to launch soon an engagement programme with you the Iwi to deeply understand you and your whānau and how we best as a Rūnanga deliver to you. Keep a look out.
Kia piki te ora
