Kia ora e te whānau,

Culture

The last couple of months have seen us busy designing and confirming our cultural programme for this financial year, ending in March 2017. I am excited to announce that we will have another year of innovative cultural initiatives.

We will have two iwi weekend wānanga this year, intended for all age groups and levels. Two Mana Rangatahi wānanga will also be held, with the first one being 18 – 23 July. More information will come out via a Pānui soon.

This year we are also including a one day wānanga for clusters of whānau. This will involve arranging for a tutor to come and spend the day with you. Think of it is a taster to what you can expect at the longer wānanga.

We are also developing some resources that will assist whānau to learn more about our Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tōtanga. If you haven’t already, go to our Vimeo channel, Apa TV, where you can view the promo and the mini documentary of our last Mana Rangatahi Wānanga.

We look forward to another year of cultural revitalisation, strengthening our reo and tikanga, and would encourage all those whānau who have not yet done so, to come and experience our wānanga
