Computers in Homes Update
We are currently over half way through the first 10 week Computers in Homes pilot course with graduations happening in August.
We have seen Kaumātua and whānau members learn the basics, browse the internet and for many they have composed, attached a document and sent their first email. Awesome to see them enjoying the experience and achieving their goals.
As this is a pilot project, we are now exploring further options and opportunities to run these programmes in other centres.
Literacy & Numeracy Programme
We have completed our preparations and confirmed our relationship with Workforce Development NZ and are now looking for iwi members who would like to join this programme and improve their literacy and numeracy skills.
The programme is for those who are already employed or in the workforce and want to improve their literacy and numeracy skills which can help to improve future employment opportunities.
We have 14 places on this programme available to Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō iwi members throughout the country.
Workforce Development is a private training company, which has been serving New Zealand communities, businesses and government departments for over 20 years.
