Ngā manaakitanga o te wā
Kia ora e te iwi
Well, that year was not quite what we all expected! While Covid-19 has put many of our regular events for whānau on hold this year, we are gearing up to restart activities in 2021, starting with the Mana Rangatahi wānanga in early January. For more on this wānanga, see here.
While opportunities to catch up have been limited this year, it’s been great to support whānau in other ways, including with the launch of the new combined Kurahaupō Te Kura Ora fund shortly after the Covid-19 lockdown to awhi whānau in need. A highlight has also been closer co-operation between the iwi of Te Tauihu, in particular with our Kurahaupō whanaunga Ngāti Kuia and Rangitāne o Wairau. From here, collaboration can only grow stronger and there are some exciting plans in the works; watch this space for more to come next year.
To all members, near and far, we hope you enjoy a break with whānau and have the chance to pause, reflect and set new goals for the New Year. Best wishes for the season, stay safe, stay happy and we look forward to seeing you in 2021.
