As we start to feel spring on the doorstep, it’s time to prepare for the iwi’s annual customary tuna harvest to Rotoroa in the Nelson Lakes. Each year, we take a wānanga to the lake to practice the tikanga of harvesting tuna in preparation for the Hui-a-Tau. This year, the harvest will take place on Saturday, September 14, returning to Blenheim on Sunday, September 15. It is open is all iwi members and is a great way to learn more about our Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tōtanga.
If you would like to join the customary harvest, please give us a call at the office on 0800 578 900 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register. You can also contact us through our Facebook page. Please note that registrations close on Friday, September 6.
