All the whānau who registered for the te reo Māori packs should have received them by now. We have received heaps of positive feedback from iwi members regarding the resource and has proven to be one of our most popular initiatives thus far. For some of the whānau, it was the first time they have engaged with Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō. If you received a reo pack it would be great to hear from you. Could you please email a picture of you wearing your t–shirt and holding the resources. Also include a quick comment if you have found the resources useful. Please email culturaladvisor@ngatiapakiterato.iwi.nz
TE KURA WHAKARAUORA REO
As previously mentioned in the last pānui, Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō are hosting the Kura Whakarauora reo hui in Blenheim. This hui is for anyone interested in learning more about language revitalisation. You will learn how to develop your own language plan. There are still a couple of spaces left for Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō whānau. Please contact Kiley if you would like to attend. The iwi will pay your registration fee. For more information, go to www.kurawhakarauora.co.nz
WAKA AMA WĀNANGA
Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō is sponsoring the Kaiteriteri waka ama competition in mid November. We are going to see if we can organise a wānanga in conjunction with the event and how that might work while supporting the competition. Please register your interest by emailing office@ngatiapakiterato.iwi.nz. We are also looking to support any experienced whānau who would like to put in a team into the race, please contact Kiley.
