The iwi Trust is on the lookout for a full-time Taiao Advisor, could this be you?
This role was advertised earlier in the year but was put on-hold amid the uncertainty of Covid-19.
We’re pleased to say the position is now open again.
The role involves: providing advice to management, the Taiao sub-Committee and the Trusts on environmental policy matters relevant to the iwi; representing the iwi on various Taiao working groups; working with management and the Taiao sub- Committee to develop, for the Trusts’ approval, a Taiao Strategy for the iwi; leading and/or assisting with the completion of cultural impact assessments and other workstreams associated with resource consent applications; drafting submissions to local and central government on the iwi’s behalf; and monitoring and reporting on environmental trends: local, regional, national and international.
The ideal candidate will: be experienced and/or comfortable in working in an iwi/Māori environment, representing an iwi world view; have experience in writing and presenting reports and discussion papers; have relevant tertiary qualifications; hold experience in resource management, including with the relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks; be a good communicator, with excellent analysis and writing skills; be a team player able to work well with other staff and the wider iwi membership.
